First many thanks to you Laura and Vanja, that you allowed me to cover your marvellous version for adding my accordion and percussion to it. This is Laura's and Vanja's original version: www.youtube.com Beside my brand new tambourine, I used a self build bass drum that cost me..... NOTHING - except about 1 hour of time for building and tuning. It was made from an old waste paper basket (that was left from my renovation a couple of weeks ago and already planned for trashing). I cut off the bottom and put thick plastic foil on top. A thick wire (actually a 3-wire-powercable) was attached and first soldered to get a tight fitting ring. After that the drum was tuned to this song's requirements. Finally the ring was hot glued to the basket's top border to stabilize tuning and make it permanent as good as possible (I know, this will just last for a short while). This worked perfectly - sounded fantastic (really deep and full bass) on the very first try... I was surprised by that simple, fast and cheap solution ! here is the link for a short DIY-description how to build the drum: www.youtube.com I had to do that because I am still awaiting delivery of my new percussion set and snare drum - so far I just received my (this) tambourine.... and couldn't await to use it on this song.
